For the past couple of weeks I have been concentrating on photographing Craftsman style houses for an upcoming article I have been asked to write for the "Los Feliz Observer". The article will be the first in a series highlighting the development of our neighborhood from 1900 until the present day.
Early Los Feliz deveopment occured largely in the "flats", the relatively level parts south of Los Feliz Boulevard. The more-expensive-to-build lots north of the boulevard were developed later.. Most of the homes built in the first two decades of the twentieth century were of the Craftsman style; the duplex located at 1952-1954 N. Dracena Drive shown above is another fine example.
